Stitchers’ Fair

The annual Stitchers’ Fair tent is a favorite of Guild members as well as the many needlework enthusiasts, teachers, and creators who visit Ohio Mart each year. Area needleworkers know there are amazing bargains and inspiring projects and supplies to be found there.

The Stitchers’ Fair committee collects donations of all sorts of needlework items throughout the year. This includes cross-stitch charts, kits, fabrics, and floss; hand-painted needlepoint canvases; yarn and specialty fibers; beads; sewing fabric, thread, and buttons; and more. Often there are finished pieces that might just need framing or some other method of making into a completed work of art.

The Stitchers’ Fair is located in the "Well", which is the curved lower driveway of the Manor House leading to the entrance to the Reception Hall.

The prices are unbeatable and the selection is always impressive. Many items are priced at 25 cents, 50 cents, or $1. Kits and specialty canvases are typically in the $5 to $10 range. Finished items are normally offered for a donation rather than priced individually.

The committee’s goal is to redistribute as many items as possible while benefiting the Guild Education Fund.

Bring your list of desired materials and be open to finding your perfect next project.

Donations

Donations to the Fair can be accepted through August and can range from small to quite large numbers of items. The committee members work throughout the year sorting and pricing. When large estates are donated, the committee occasionally holds a members-only sale or silent auction at a meeting.

The committee hosts an annual Members Only Sale for current members of the Guild prior to Ohio Mart. Members are able to shop from all of the donated items at this time. All remaining items are offered for sale to the public during Ohio Mart.

It is a joy and a privilege to find new homes for beloved needlework projects and supplies. Let us know if you would like more information!
