Moon on the Water

Canvas

Watch the water ripple with the reflection of a very large romantic moon. This is an intermediate-level design stitched on 18-count Antique Blue canvas. The long interlocking stitches take advantage of the canvas color and will light up around the moon and down to the horizon. The craters of the moon will be indicated using Circular Bargello Twist motifs and well-placed Jessicas. See the water ripple in an easy darning pattern and the moon’s reflection glint in delightful dancing crescents. Discover the secret to the silhouette of the lone tree. The finished design measures 6 x 7 inches.

The class kit will include Antique Blue 18-count mono canvas with a partial line drawing, threads, needles, instruction booklet and photo.

Students must provide 2 pairs of 12-inch stretcher bars, tacks and hammer or stapler, a frame or frame weight, a laying tool (mandatory), along with standard stitching supplies. Light and magnification are recommended, and a light-colored towel or napkin to place under the stitching will help with counting threads on the dark canvas.
